STORYLINES FOR THE CIBC FINALS PRESENTED BY ROAR ORGANIC

|OVERALL TOP 5:
- BEST ON BEST: Only the top points earners in 2024 will play in San Clemente.
- WRAP IT UP: Last chance for players to put their stamp on the 2024 Carvana PPA Tour season.
- MAJOR LEAGUE IMPACT: Will MLP finalists fare better due to their great team results, or will the extra rest for those not playing in Orlando be the difference?
- EXTRA CREDIT: Points earned count as an extra event for rankings that only participants in the Finals can earn.
- DEEP END OF THE POOL: Pool play tie breakers include margin of victory so every point truly matters.
FORMAT/HOW THIS EVENT WORKS:
- Players could not just enter this event – you had to qualify based on 2024 results.
- The top 8 women and men in points in singles and mixed doubles and the top 16 in women’s and men’s doubles form two pools of 4 players (singles) or teams (doubles).
- Pool names: ATP and Erne.
- Pool play for 3 days Wed-Fri, with one match per player/team in each discipline each day (3 match round robin within each pool)
- The top two players/teams in each pool advance to the semi-finals.
- The final standings of each group is determined as follows:
- Greatest number of wins
- If two players/teams are tied in number of wins, head-to-head will break the tie.
- If three (3) players/teams are tied, ties are broken by head-to-head sweep, followed by:
- Point Differential for all matches
- Point Differential H2H
- Point Differential vs. next highest ranked team
- Semi-final Saturday will pit the ATP Pool winner against the Erne pool second place finisher and vice versa. The winner of these matches will play for the title on Sunday.
- All matches are best 2 out of 3 except for the 3 doubles finals which are 3/5.
- No bronze matches.
- Points are awarded to players as follows: 200 per round robin win, 300 for a semi-finals win, and 600 for a finals win. If a player wins all of his/her pool matches, the semis, and Finals, they earn 1,500 points. Every player will receive at least 100 points for qualifying.

- Event #23 of the year. Second trip to the beautiful Life Time Athletic Country Club in San Clemente.
- Broadcast start times are 10am Pacific Wednesday through Sunday.
- Coverage on Pickleball TV (Prime Video, Roku, Samsung TV Plus, LG, and many more), Tennis Channel, and ESPN2. Fans can go to pickleballtv.com to download the Pickleballtv app for DVR features.
- Pickleball Live postgame show will air immediately following the last match on Thursday through Sunday.
WOMEN’S SINGLES:
- Defending medalists: Waters, Parenteau
- Waters has a single loss in 2024 (Devidze, who is in her pool).
- Parenteau seeks her first win of the year.

- Pool formation for all pools: the 1 seed was placed at the top of the ATP Pool, the 2 seed was placed at the top of the Erne pool, 3 and 4 were then randomized, 5 and 6 randomized, 7 and 8 randomized.

- Defending medalists: Johns, Alshon
- Staksrud dominated in 2024 but was 0-5 against Johns on Championship Sunday.
- Alshon was in position to qualify before injuries derailed his singles campaign in 2024.

- Ladies chose their partners (from the top down) – Top seeded Anna Leigh Waters could choose any of the qualifying men – she chose Ben Johns.

- Jessie Irvine replaces the injured Vivienne David who qualified but cannot play.
