  • Earns his first career PPA Singles medal.
  • His only other previous opportunity was in November 2023 at the Hertz Gold Cup, losing in the bronze match to Connor Garnett.
  • Won four Doubles titles and one Mixed title last year, all since August.
  • Beat Quang Duong in the Semis. Duong won a gold and a silver medal last year, and beat Ben Johns twice.

BRONZE: #5 Phuc Huynh vs #2 Quang Duong.

  • Duong won a gold and a silver medal last year, and beat Ben Johns twice.
  • Duong won a gold vs Connor Garnett at the Rate Championships in October; a silver vs Federico Staksrud in Houston in April.

  • Silver medal at the Masters.

#1 JESSIE IRVINE and GABE TARDIO:

  • This team won the Utah Open last August and a silver medal at the Milwaukee Open in November.
  • Tardio made a big splash last year, winning four men’s Doubles titles.
  • Irvine has nine career titles: five in Doubles, four in Mixed.

#2 LACY SCHNEEMANN and TYSON McGUFFIN:

  • This team won a silver at Newport Beach in 2023, losing to the Johnsons.
  • McGuffin is looking for his first title since his Triple Crown effort at the T-O-C in August 2023.
  • Schneemann is looking for her first PPA title of any type.

BRONZE: #4 Allyce Jones and Jay Devilliers vs. #6 Vivian Glozman and Quang Duong.

  • Jones has one career Mixed Doubles medal, a silver from 2023 (lost to ALW & Sock in NC)
  • Devilliers has one Mixed title (in 2021). His last Mixed medal was a bronze at the 2023 Florida Open.
  • Duong won titles in Singles and Doubles last year, but has yet to medal in Mixed. He lost in the bronze medal match of the World Championships last fall, playing with Anna Bright.
  • Glozman is looking for her first medal of any kind in Mixed Doubles.
=== MEN’S DOUBLES ===

#1 TYSON McGUFFIN and GABE TARDIO:

  • 2024: McGuffin lost in the final to the Johns brothers at the Desert Ridge Open in February, playing with Dekel Bar.
  • 2024: McGuffin won five straight bronze medals, from the Red Rock Open through the Orange County Cup, four with Dekel Bar and one with Martinez Vich.
  • McGuffin is looking for his first title since his Triple Crown effort at the T-O-C in August 2023.
  • Tardio won four titles last year, two with Federico Staksrud and two with Andrei Daescu. Those four gold medals came in a nine-tournament span from August to December.
  • Did You Know…McGuffin won a bronze medal (with Riley Newman) in the PPA’s first official tournament, the Mesa Grand Slam in 2020?         

#3 QUANG DUONG and C.J. KLINGER:

  • Allowed only 13 points in eight games this week.
  • Both players won their first PPA medals last year.
  • Duong won the Bristol Open in August with Christian Alshon.
  • Klinger won the Daytona Beach Open in December with Andrei Daescu. He also won a silver at the Milwaukee Open in November with James Ignatowich.

BRONZE: #4 Joseph Wild and Zane Navratil vs. #2 Collin Johns and Jay Devilliers.

  • Navratil last year won two silvers (Las Vegas and Austin) and two bronzes (L.A. and Phoenix.)
  • Devilliers’ most recent medal was a bronze at the Bristol Open in August.
  • Collin Johns has 34 career gold medals, all in Men’s Doubles with his brother Ben.
  • Did You Know… Johns won a silver medal (with Adam Stone) in the PPA’s first official tournament, the Mesa Grand Slam in 2020? 
=== WOMEN’S DOUBLES ===

Two of these players will be first-time PPA Doubles champions!

#1 TYRA BLACK and ALLYCE JONES:

  • This team won back-to-back bronze medals at the World Championships and at Milwaukee, and another at the Red Rock Open last April.
  • Black won a silver at Daytona Beach in December with Jorja Johnson.
  • Black has two career Doubles silvers. 
  • Jones has four career Doubles silvers, and a Mixed silver from 2023 (to ALW & Sock in NC)
  • Both players are looking for their first career Doubles titles. (Black has a Singles title)

#2 VIVIAN GLOZMAN and LACY SCHNEEMANN:

  • This team lost in the final of the LA Open last April to Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher.
  • Schneemann won three silver medals and two bronzes last year.
  • Both players are looking for their first PPA title of any type.

BRONZE: #5 Emilia Schmidt and Dani-Elle Townsend vs. Alix Truong and Jessie Irvine.

  • Schmidt and Townsend:  No PPA Tour stats available.
  • Truong is trying to win her first PPA Doubles medal. She won a bronze in Mixed last year at Red Rock.
  • Irvine won a silver with Tina Pisnik at the Orange County Cup last June  (lost to ALW & CP)
  • Irvine has nine career titles: five in Doubles, four in Mixed.
