Tammy Emmrich's Bio
Tammy Emmrich hails from Johannesburg, South Africa and resides in Bradenton, Florida with her husband Martin (also a PPA Tour pro) and daughter Gabriella. Before discovering pickleball, Emmrich played professional tennis, where she represented Belgium five times in the Billie Jean King Cup. She achieved career highs of no. 4 in the ITF junior rankings and no. 170 in the WTA rankings and boasts five professional tennis titles.
Emmrich started playing pickleball during the second half of 2022 after seeing it on TV and thought it could be a good way to get back in shape after having a baby. What began as a hobby soon turned into an obsession for the couple, and now Tammy and Martin share the goal of reaching the top ten in the PPA Tour rankings. Since switching to pickleball, Emmrich has captured two medals in pro women’s doubles, and she competes at the challenger level of Major League Pickleball as a member of the Austin Pickleballers.
