Martin Emmrich is a professional pickleball player competing on the PPA Tour in men’s singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. He has established himself as a notable competitor in the rapidly growing sport of professional pickleball.
Background & Career
Originally from Germany, Martin Emmrich lives in Bradenton, Florida with his wife Tammy (also a PPA Tour pro) and daughter Gabriella. Like his wife and many other PPA pros, Emmrich comes from a professional tennis background. He represented Germany in the Davis Cup twice as the country’s top-ranked doubles player. He also achieved a career-high doubles ranking of no. 35 on the ATP Tour and has 18 professional tennis titles to his name.
Emmrich started playing pickleball during the second half of 2022 thanks to his wife Tammy, who started playing after seeing it on TV. What began as a hobby soon turned into an obsession for the couple, and now Martin and Tammy share the goal of reaching the top ten in the PPA Tour rankings. So far in his pickleball career, Emmrich has won four medals (three golds) playing men’s and mixed doubles. He is also sponsored by Holbrook Pickleball, and he competes at the challenger level of Major League Pickleball as a member of the St. Louis Shock.
